Service Description

Basic First Aid adheres to CSA Standard Z1210-17 guideline. It prepares the workplace first aider to recognize an injury or illness, call and inform emergency services (EMS), and provide basic first aid care to the injured or ill worker. Employers decide on their first aid course based on their jurisdiction’s regulatory requirements that consider such factors as: *Classification of work performed on site as low, medium or high hazard; *Number of workers per shift; and. *Distance of work site to medical aid (close, distant or isolated). This course is one day in length and is valid for 3 years. CPR/AED skills are life-saving skills taught in all first aid courses. To maintain competency in these key skills, Heart & Stroke recommends attending a Heartsaver® CPR AED course each year.
