Service Description
Intermediate First Aid is designed based on the CSA Standard Z1210-17 guidelines. It trains the workplace first aider in more comprehensive skills to be able to provide a broader scope of emergency workplace first aid care to the injured or ill worker. Employers decide on their first aid course based on their jurisdiction’s regulatory requirements that consider such factors as: *Classification of work performed on site as low, medium or high hazard; *Number of workers per shift; and. *Distance of work site to medical aid (close, distant or isolated). This course is 2-days in length and is valid for 3 years. CPR/AED skills are life-saving skills taught in all first aid courses. To maintain competency in these key skills, Heart & Stroke recommends attending a BLS course each year.
